Important Information about the CSP

The Compliance Standards Program (CSP) is a voluntary program offered to insurance agents and independent marketing organizations that offer fixed life insurance and fixed annuities for sale to consumers.  The CSP was developed to assist insurance agents and independent marketing organizations with establishing best practices and processes to help comply with applicable laws and regulations within the limited scope of the CSP.  Becoming a CSP Member cannot, and does not, guarantee that the CSP Member will always act in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and regulations.  However, CSP Members are required to undergo a compliance assessment and attest that they will adhere to the CSP Code of Ethics.

The CSP is administered by Summit Compliance Group, LLC (“Summit”) which is a limited liability company based in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  Summit offers compliance consulting and outsourcing to insurance companies, independent marketing organizations, insurance agents, registered investment advisers, and other financial organizations.

Summit makes no representation, nor does Summit offer any warranty or guarantee or any kind, express or implied, regarding any CSP Member business dealings or other interactions with consumers, CSP Member maintenance or adherence to the CSP requirements, CSP Member ethics, or CSP Member conduct of any kind.  Summit is not responsible for, nor does Summit supervise or otherwise perform any oversight of, CSP Member behavior, conduct, or business.

CSP Members are solely responsible for compliance with all laws, regulations, rules, and other requirements that may apply to CSP Members.  Summit makes no representation, nor does Summit offer any warranty or guarantee of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, effectiveness, or completeness of any of the functions, practices, processes, training, or other areas included in the CSP.

Under no circumstances does Summit assume any liability for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of business dealings or other interactions with a CSP Member.  In addition, Summit does not assume any liability for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of a consumer’s reliance upon the CSP name, CSP Seal, CSP website, CSP promotional materials, or any other advertising or marketing involving the CSP or CSP Members.  Summit makes no representation, nor does Summit offer any warranty or guarantee of any kind, express or implied, that working with a CSP Member will minimize, reduce, or otherwise mitigate any financial risk or losses or other potentially damaging situations or outcomes for a consumer.
